Doctoral Seminar
The purpose of the program is to create an international network of emerging scholars and foster the next generation of academics working in Jewish studies by providing financial assistance and peer and professional support.
Program Requirements
Recognizing that study, scholarship, and writing are unique individual pursuits, this program will bring together grant recipients online once per month for two hours from September 2025 – May 2026, via Zoom.
Participants will be provided with a framework within which they will share their work in-progress with their peers. They will also be afforded the opportunity to learn from MFJC faculty and other scholars currently working in Jewish studies globally. Grantees will receive $10,000 to support their research, study, and writing and in return must commit to attending at least 7 of the 9 sessions.
Application Process
Interested candidates should be in the dissertation writing phase of their academic program, and must include a copy of their approved dissertation proposal and PhD related transcripts with their application. Applicants will also need to submit two letters of recommendation, one from their dissertation supervisor.
Candidates will be made aware of their status by June 2025.
